Did you go in through a portal or from a town? If your pet was with you and you went through a portal then the pet should still be with you. Make sure you have the charm skill in your skill bar.

i don't have the charm skill equiped, but he'd been with me since i removed it. i still have the comfort animal and have used it and it says that my pet is too far away. i'm going to kick myself it all i need to do is reequip the charm animal and he shows up.

I did the same thing and freaked out! I just had to put Charm Animal back in and there he was.

A little off topic, has anyone been able to use any other animal beside the bird, wolf, melandru, and warthog? THX.

You can cap a spider in the underworld, and it starts at level 20 as well =

You can cap a bear in the southern shiverpeaks, I still prefer this to a spider for my beastmaster

I recommend wearing stout boots or high-heels, then backheeling or scraping your opposing shin respectively. Maximum pain output.

Bears are cool and get really big at level 20. I highly recommend them, no missing them in a crowd!

Ya gotta be careful when charming them as when they turn hostile the henchies will kill them before you finish charming. Take real players along, if possible.

Not to be Mr. Picky, the bear only gets really big if you go for a hearty evolution (in so many words, the tank evolution). The other evolutions naturally grow as well, simply not to the size of a hearty bear ...

This is an easy mistake to make if you collect any skills as quest rewards whilst out in the field - you can replace Charm with something else and your pet will stay with you until the next time you change zone.
